On March 26, 2018 at 7:38 a.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a report of a Theft in the 100 block South Frederick Av in Oelwein.  A report was taken and the incident remains under investigation.

March 25, 2018

At 6:06 p.m., on March 25, 2018 Oelwein Police arrested Gary Richard Sumpter, 48, of Waterloo.  Sumpter was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon-Aggravated Misdemeanor.  This arrest followed an incident in the 500 block of Rock Island Road.

March 22,2018

Oelwein Police are investigating a Motor Vehicle Theft Complaint.  Oelwein Police received a report of a theft of a motor vehicle at 4:49 a.m., on March 22 2018 from the 10 block 2nd ST NW.  The vehicle is described as a Black 2010 Pontiac G6.

March 21, 2018

Oelwein Police are investigating a motor vehicle theft complaint.  Oelwein Police received a report of a theft of a motor vehicle at 9:31a.m., on March 21 2018 from the 100 block 6th AV SW.  The vehicle is described as a Red 1998 Chevrolet S10.

On March 21, 2018 at 1:22 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a report of a Theft in the 800 block of 5th ST SE in Oelwein.  A report was taken and the incident remains under investigation.

On March 21, 2018 at 3:10 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a report of a Burglary in the 100 block of 8th AV NW in Oelwein.  A report was taken and the incident remains under investigation.

On March 7, 2018 at 5:54 p.m., Oelwein Police served an abatement to the resident of a property in the 100 block 1st AV NW.  On March 21, 2018 Ashley Elizabeth Rogers, age 26, was served a civil citation for Failure to Abate Property as Ordered.

On March 20, 2018 at 6:01 p.m., the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Criminal Mischief from the 100 block of 5th AV SE.  This incident remains under investigation.

On March 20, 2018 at 6:14 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a report of an burglary in the 300 block of 4th AV SE in Oelwein.  A report was taken and the incident remains under investigation.

Oelwein Police are investigating a motor vehicle theft complaint.  Oelwein Police received a report of a theft of a motor vehicle at 7:27 p.m., on March 20, 2018 from the 100 block 10th AV NW.  The vehicle is described as a yellow2004 Chevrolet SSR.

On March 18, 2018 at 9:50 a.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary in the 1000 block of S Frederick in Oelwein.  A report was taken and the incident remains under investigation. 

March 14,2018

On March 14, 2018 at 11:20 a.m., Oelwein Police performed a traffic stop in the 200 block of 4th St SE.  Officers arrested Mark Allen Shaw, age 54 of Oelwein on charges of Prohibited Acts, a Class C Felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Misdemeanor; and Driving While License Suspended, Simple misdemeanor.

 

 

March 13,2018

On March 13, 2018 at 9:00 p.m., Oelwien Officers arrested Matthew Michael Wenthe, age 49 of Oelwein, on a charge of Theft 5th Degree, a Simple Misdemeanor.  This charge is the result of an incident that occurred on January 31, 2018.

On March 010, 2018 at 5:37 p.m., the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Criminal Mischief from the 200 block of East Charles.  This incident remains under investigation.

On March 010, 2018 at 7:20 p.m., the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Theft from the 2100 block of South Frederick.  This incident remains under investigation.
