On January 20, 2018 at 7:30 p.m., the Oelwein Police Department took a report of a vehicle that had driven through a yard and into a ditch in the 400 block of 4th Avenue NW in Oelwein. Officers responded and arrested Troy Edward Richards, age 55 of Oelwein on a charge of OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor. Richards was also cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
Oelwein Police are investigating a Criminal Mischief Complaint. Oelwein Police received a report of Criminal Mischief, at 1:44 a.m., on January 20, 2018 from the 200 block 6th AV SE. This incident remains under investigation.
At 12:47 a.m., on January 19, 2018 Oelwein Police arrested Nick David Walker, 40, of Oelwein. Walker was arrested and charged with OWI 2nd Offense-Aggravated Misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 100 block 4th ST NW.

At 5:04 a.m., on January 18, 2018 Oelwein Police arrested Patrick Gordon Schanbeck, 67, of Oelwein. Schanbeck was charged with Driving while License Suspended-Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 10 block 1st AV SE.

On January 16, 2018 at 12:15 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Seth Lee Rohrick, age 21 of Oelwein on a Probation Violation warrant with an original charge of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. Rohrick was arrested in the 1500 block of South Frederick in Oelwein.
Oelwein Officers arrested Nicole Marie Pingree, age 33 of Oelwein on a Fayette County Sheriff's Office show cause warrant for Failure to Complete Children in the Middle Certificate. This arrest was made on January 16, 2018 at 4:20 p.m.
On January 16, 2018 at 10:00 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Joshua Aaron Roepke, age 25 of Hazleton on 12 counts of Forgery, Class "D" Felonies. These charges were the culmination of investigations on four incidences.

Oelwein Police have arrested a suspect for the Burglary in the 700 block of South Frederick Avenue that happened on Januare 15, 2018 at 7:17 a.m. Oelwein Police arrested Andrew Nael, 19, of Oelwein. Nagel was arrested and charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree-Class D Felony following an officers interaction with the suspect in the 200 block 3rd st nw. This incident was originally reported to the police on January 15, 2018. This incident remains under investigation.
On January 8, 2017 at 6:30 a.m., Oelwein Officer performed an equipment violation traffic stop in the 10 block of North Frederick in Oelwein. The officer cited and released Ethan Scott Gray, age 22 of Oelwein for Driving While License Suspended.
On January 7, 2018 at 8:40 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to the 100 block of 4th Avenue SE for a reported disturbance. Officers arrested Christopher Michael Potts, age 41 of Oelwein on charges of Domestic Abuse Assault 2nd Offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor and Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, Simple Assault, and Interference with Official Acts, all Simple Misdemeanors.
On January 3, 2018 at 6:45 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Michael Philip Lewis, age 23 of Hazleton on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor and Possession of Paraphernalia and Driving While License Suspended, both Simple Misdemeanors.
On December 28, 2017 at 4:55 p.m., Oelwein Officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 500 block of N Frederick in Oelwein. After a short pursuit of a suspect, officers did arrest Robert TC Gould, age 37 of Oelwein. Gould was charged with Eluding, Aggravated Misdemeanor; Driving While License Suspended and Reckless Driving, both Simple Misdemeanors, and was given citations for Fraudulent Use of Registration and N Insurance. Gould was also arrested on multiple charges for a Department of Corrections warrant.
