On September 28, 2017 at 4:08 p.m., Oelwein Police served an abatement to the resident of a property in the 200 block of 4th Avenue SEE. On October 18, 2017 Ronald Craig Dean, age 40, was served a civil citation for Failure to Abate Property as Ordered.

On October 19, 2017 at 12:01am Oelwein Police arrested Nick David Walker 40, of Oelwein. Walker was charged with Trespassing-Simple Misdemeanor and Theft 5th Degree-Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest followed an incident in the 10 block 1st av se on October 16, 2017
On October 17, 2017 at 9:15 p.m. Oelwein Officers responded to a male creating a disturbance in the 100 block of 8th Avenue SW. Officers arrested Brandon Burnell Buckman, age 30 of Oelwein on charges of Trespass and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, both Simple Misdemeanors.
On October 15, 2017 at 8:30 p.m., Oelwein Officers served a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Lincoln Drive NE in Oelwein. Officers arrested Jacob David Snay, age 23 of Oelwein, on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance, Meth, a Serious Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. Further investigation and charges are pending in this case.
On October 15, 2017 at 8:00 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a call of a possible impaired driver leaving the area of the 700 block of South Frederick Avenue. Officers did locate the vehicle in the 10 block of West Charles. Following Field Sobriety Testing, Officers did arrest Jerry T. Ball, age 58, of Aurora, Colorado on a charge of OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.
On October 13, 2017 at 7:38 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Jenna Rae Stubberud, 36, of Oelwein. Stubberud was arrested on a Bremer county warrant for probation violation on original charges of Forgery- Class D Felony, Fraudulent use of Credit Cards-Aggravated Misdemeanor and Identity Theft-Aggravated Misdemeanor. This arrest followed an incident in the 400 block 13th av NW.

Oelwein Police Department investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 1000 block S Frederick. A Silver 2006 Dodge Caravan driven by Autumn Hayes struck a Deer at that location.
