March 1, 2018

On March 01, 2018 at 11:42 a.m. the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Criminal Mischief from the 1000 block of North Frederick.  This incident remains under investigation.

On March 01, 2018 at 7:40 p.m. the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Criminal Mischief from the 200 block of 3rd AV NE.  This incident remains under investigation.

February 27,2018

On February 27, 2018 at 1:15 p.m., in the 150 block of South Frederick, Oelwein Officers arrested Troy Christopher Miller, age 29 of Oelwein fr three Fayette County Sheriff's warrants with original charges of Stalking, Criminal Mischief 3rd, and Burglary 3rd.

 

On February 1, 2018 at 1:0 a.m., Oelwein Officers received a report of shoplifting in the 10 block of 1st St SE in Oelwein.  After investigating the incident, on February 27, 2018 Officers arrested Nick David Walker, age 40 of Oelwein for Theft 5th Degree, a Simple Misdemeanor.

 

February 23,2018

On February 23, 2018 at 11:35 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Krishauna Latazia Wilson, age 27 of Readlyn for a Black Hawk County warrant, original charge being Criminal Mischief 4th Degree.

February 20, 2017

On February 20, 2018 at 6:45 p.m. the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Burglary from the 700 block of West Charles.  This incident remains under investigation.

February 19,2018

On February 19, 2018 at 9:05 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Shane Ryan Dietz, age 30 of Oelwein on two Black Hawk County Sheriff's warrants, one for Probation Violation for Assault and Possession of Marijuana and the second for Failure to Serve 180 days Mittimus for 2nd Offense Possession of Methamphetamine.

February 16, 2018

On February 16, 2018 at 11:06 a.m., Oelwein Police arrested David Matthew Leyh, 60, of Oelwein.  Leyh was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 600 block 150 North.

On February 16, 2018 at 6:45 p.m. the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Burglary from the 500 block of 4th ST SW.  This incident remains under investigation.

 

 

February 15, 2018

On February 15, 2018 at 8:07 a.m. the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Criminal Mischief to a vehicle in the 500 block of Rock Island Road.  This incident remains under investigation.

On February 15, 2018 at 11:51 a.m. the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Theft from a building in the 10 block of 2nd AV SW.  This incident remains under investigation.

 

 

February 14,2018

On February 14, 2018 at 11:55 p.m., the Oelwein Police Department took a call of a possible vehicle in the ditch in the 100 block of East Line Road.  Upon arrival in the area, the vehicle was located and the driver was given field testing.  Officers arrested Dorothy Jean Briggman, age 68 of Oelwein on a charge of OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  Briggman was also cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

 

At 12:40 p.m. on February 14, 2018 Oelwein Officers responded to the 100 block of 4th Avenue SE for a reported theft from a building.  A report was taken and this incident remains open and under investigation.

 

On February 12, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. the Oelwein Police Department took a call of a theft from a building in the 10 block of North Frederick.  Officers responded and spoke with the victim at that location.  A report was taken and the incident remains under investigation.

 

 

February 13,2018

On February 13, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. the Oelwein Police Department took a report of Criminal Mischief to a vehicle in the 300 block of 6th Av NE.  This incident remains under investigation.

 

Oelwein Officers responded to a two vehicle property damage accident at the intersection of Elmwood and 12th Avenue SE on February 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.  Vehicle one, a 2005 Ford Escape driven by Aryeanna Shaunae Washington, age 18 of Oelwein struck a 2006 International truck driven by David Michael Clarahan, age 66 of Sigourney.  Vehicle one sustained $10,000 in damage and vehicle two sustained $5,000 in damage.  Aryana Washington was found to be at fault and was issued a warning for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.

 

 

 

 

February 10, 2018

Oelwein Police are investigating a Theft Complaint.  Oelwein Police received a report of Theft, at 4:20 p.m., on February 10, 2018 from the 100 block 5th ST NW. This incident remains under investigation
