On November 28, 2018 at 2:14 p.m., Officers took a report of a Theft in the 500 block of W Charles.  A report was taken and this incident remains under investigation.

On November 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Oelwein Officers arrested Gary Joseph McNamara, age 21 of Oelwein for a Fayette County Sheriff's warrant for Probation Violation.

Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block of 12th Street SE on November 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.  Officers cited and released David Michael Hurst, age 48 of Oelwein for Driving While License Suspended.

On November 24, 2018 at 10:15 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Mykala Lynn Meike, age 25 of Oelwein on two Fayette County Sheriff's Office warrants for Failure to Appear on Show Cause Hearings.

Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop on November 26, 2018 at 12:30 a.m. in the 100 block of 1st Av SE.  Officers cited and released Maryann Kaylynn Bockenstadt, age 27, of Oelwein for Driving While License Suspended. 

On November 11, 2018 at 3:40 a.m., Oelwein Police arrested Dillon John Sommerfelt, 31, of Oelwein.  Sommerfelt was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault- Class D Felony.  This arrest happened in the 300 block 1^st AV NW.

On November 21, 2018 at 2:00 a.m., Oelwein Officers were called to a disturbance in the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE.  Upon arrival, Officers arrested 19 year old Anna Marie Ramirez Provin of Fairbank on charges of Interference With Official Acts, Public Intoxication, and Criminal Mischief 5th Degree, all Simple Misdemeanors.

On November 18, 2018 at 3:37 p.m., Officers took a report of a Theft in the 700 block of 2^nd AV NE.  A report was taken and this incident remains under investigation.

On November 18, 2018 at 4:40 p.m., Officers took a report of a Criminal Mischief in the 10 block of 3^rd AV SE.  A report was taken and this incident remains under investigation.

On November 17, 2018 at 8:37 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block of 2^nd ST NW in Oelwein.  Officers cited Robert Joseph Rinella, age 27 of Hazleton for Driving While License Suspended, a Simple Misdemeanor.  Rinellla was given an equipment repair order for a license plate light.

Release: Drug Investigation Arrests

            The Oelwein Police Department has completed a multi-month drug investigation which has resulted in charges being filed on three separate individuals. Two of the subjects have been arrested for the violations and the third person remains at-large with a warrant being issued for his arrest.

Arrested as a result of this investigation:

Kathleen Rose Ott, 54 of Oelwein, IA

            Delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) less than

five grams – 2 counts Class C Felony

Delivery of controlled substance (methamphetamine) more than

five grams –  1 count Class B Felony

Possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver more than

five grams 1 count. Class B Felony

Joshua Lee Alitz, 40, of Oelwein, IA

Conspiracy to deliver controlled substance (methamphetamine) less than

five grams – 1 count Class C Felony

Delivery of controlled substance (methamphetamine) less than

five grams – 1 count Class C Felony

Delivery of controlled substance (methamphetamine) more than

five grams – 1 count Class B Felony

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of:

Scott Arthur McLaury, 48, of Hazleton, IA

Delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) more than five grams – 2 counts Class B

Felony

Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp a Class D Felony

            The incident remains under investigation and charges are pending in this matter. The Oelwein Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement.

On November 13, 2018 at 7:58 p.m. Oelwein Officers cited Collin Wilson Halligan, age 19 of Oelwein for Failure to Abate Property as Ordered for property in the 500block of 1^st ST NE.  This incident stemmed from a report taken on September 6, 2018.

On November 13, 2018 at 8:25 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block of 1^st AV SE in Oelwein.  Officers cited Kaitlyn Makay Rathjen, age 23 of Oelwein for Driving While License Suspended, a Simple Misdemeanor. Rathjen was also given an Equipment Repair Order for a headlamp.

On November 7, 2018 at 8:25 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 700 block of Hwy 150 South in Oelwein.  Officers arrested Noah Christopher Ward, age 20 of Cedar Rapids for Driving While License Suspended, a Simple Misdemeanor. Ward was also given an Equipment Repair Order for a headlamp and a brake light.
