Following an incident in the 300 block of 8th ST SW on May 1, 2018, the Oelwein Police cited Angela Anne Gephart, 24, of Oelwein for having a Dog or Cat at Large.
On May 1, 2018 at 4:45 p.m., Officers took a report of a Burglary in the 200 block of 12th Avenue SE. A report was taken and this incident remains under investigation.
On May 1, 2018 at 1:30 a.m., Oelwein Police checked on a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot in the 2100 block of South Frederick. Officers arrested Rhonda Kay Robinson, age 53 of Brandon, on 2 Buchanan County Sheriff's warrants, original charges Theft 3rd Degree and Trespass 1st offense.
On April 28, 2018 at 8:30 p.m., in the 10 block of 1st Street SW, Oelwein Officers arrested David Alan Tafolla, age 51, of Oelwein on charges of Possession of Controlled Substances 3rd Offense, 2 counts, Class "D" Felonies; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Interference With Official Acts, both Simple Misdemeanors.
On March 19, 2018 Oelwein Officers served an abatement notice for a property in the 400 block of 5th Avenue SW. On April 29, 2018 Officers cited Lowell Douglas Latham for Failure to Abate Property at this location.
On March 4, 2018 at 7:34 a.m., Oelwein Police served abatement to the resident of a property in the 200 block 8th AV SW. On April 21, 2018 Michael Andrew Dehart, age 53, was served a civil citation for Failure to Abate Property as Ordered.
On April 27, 2018 at 9:03 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block of 2nd Ave NW. Officers cited Dakota Lee Fratzke, age 20 of Oelwein, for Driving While License Suspended, a Simple Misdemeanor.
On April 26, 2018 at 9:16 a.m., Oelwein Officers were called to a traffic accident in the 10 block of South Frederick Avenue Officers cited Frank Everett Boleyn, age 64 of Oelwein, for Driving While License Suspended, a Simple Misdemeanor
At 2:12 p.m., on April 22, 2018 Oelwein Police arrested Izak Dwight Hillman, 27, of Oelwein Hillman was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault-Serious Misdemeanor. This arrest followed an incident in the 400 block 13th AV NW
On March 11, 2018 at 2:24 p.m., Oelwein Police served abatement to the resident of a property in the 10 block 2nd AV SE. On April 21, 2018 Bessie Lucile Strand, age 63, was served a civil citation for Failure to Abate Property as Ordered.
On April 19, 2018 at 11:20 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 100 block of 7th Avenue SW. Officers arrested Matthew Wade Stacey, age 24 of Oelwein, for Driving While License Suspended, a Simple Misdemeanor.
On April 17, 2018 at 2:45 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Frederick for a report of a shoplifter. Officers arrested Jeffery Clark McCowen, age 61 of Laporte City on charges of Theft 3rd Degree, an Aggravated Misdemeanor; Trespass, Simple Misdemeanor; and Driving While License Suspended, Simple Misdemeanor. McCowen was also cited for No Insurance.
