At 12:51am on May 29, 2026, Oelwein Police conducted a traffic stop in the 10 block of 2nd Ave NW, leading to the arrests of Pamela Jean Haun, 68, of Oelwein, and Zacharias James Stowe, 38, of Hazleton. Haun was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) - Serious Misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) - Serious Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor. Stowe was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (3rd or Subsequent Offense) - Class D Felony and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor. Additionally, Haun was issued a citation for Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability and an equipment repair order for a nonfunctioning license plate light.
On May 26, 2026, at 5:14pm, Oelwein Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 10 block of 8th Ave Ne. As a result of the traffic stop, Kayla Marie Westcott, 26, of Oelwein was issued a Summons to Appear for Driving While Suspended – Serious Misdemeanor.
At 10:58pm on May 24, 2026, Oelwein Police arrested Cyle Bruce Moser, 57, of Oelwein. Moser was arrested in the 10 block of 1st St SW on a Clayton County warrant for original charges of Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug (Serious Misdemeanor).
At 6:42pm on May 23, 2026, Oelwein Police arrested Talin Carter Hall, 48, of Oelwein. Hall was arrested in the 10 block of 3rd Ave SE on a Fayette County warrant for Violation of Probation.
On May 22, 2026, at 8:17am, Oelwein Officers took a report of a student possessing a Marijuana Vape at the Oelwein High School. As a result of their investigation, a 16-year-old male student was referred to the Juvenile Court System.
At 3:20pm on May 19, 2026, Oelwein Police arrested Paul Michael Kinch, 20, of Oelwein. Kinch was arrested on two Fayette County warrants, the first one for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st Offense - Serious Misdemeanor, and the second one for three counts of Invasion of Privacy - Aggravated Misdemeanor.
On May 15, 2026, at 3:45 am, Oelwein Officers took a report of an unwanted subject at their residence and were refusing to leave. As a result of their investigation, Oelwein Officers arrested Tanner Alan Steggall, 24, of Oelwein on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine – aggravated Misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple Misdemeanor and Providing False Identification – Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest took place in the 800 block of 1st Ave Sw.
At 6:54pm, Oelwein Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 10 block of 10th St Se. As a result of the traffic stop, Randy Lee Hartson, 27, of Cedar Rapids was issued a Summons to Appear for Driving While Suspended – Serious Misdemeanor.
On May 18, 2026, at 10:52 pm, Oelwein Officers made a traffic stop in the 10 block of West Charles. As a result of the traffic stop, Dennis Lee Weaver, 79, was issued a Summons to Appear for Driving While Suspended – Serious Misdemeanor.
On May 14, 2026, at 7:52pm, Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 100 block of 1st Ave Northwest. As a result of this traffic stop, Royal Joseph Louis Aagesen, 18, of Oelwein was issued a Summons to Appear for Reckless Driving – Simple Misdemeanor. Additionally, Aagesen was issued a citation for Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device as well as a warning for Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.
On May 12, 2026, at 5:45pm, Oelwein Officers arrested Toyna Mary Pennington, 50, of Oelwein. Pennington was arrested on 2 Fayette County Warrants. Pennington was arrested in the 400 block of 9th Ave Sw. The first warrant was for Violation of Probation. Warrant 2 was for Possession of a controlled Substance – Marijuana – 1st Offense.
At 5:58pm Oelwein Officers arrested James Martin Crawford, 65, of Oelwein. Crawford was arrested in the 100 block of South Frederick on a Buchanan County Warrant – Violation of Court Order.
At 3:43pm on May 11, 2026, Oelwein Police arrested Jeremiah James Bennett, 45, of Maynard. Bennett was arrested in the 1200 block of E Charles St on a Bremer County mittimus warrant for Failure to Appear to Serve Jail Sentence.
