October 12,2021

At 1:59 p.m. on October 12th, 2021, Oelwein Police arrested Christopher John Walsh, 50, of Oelwein. Walsh was arrested in the 10 block of 4th St NW in Oelwein on a Blackhawk County warrant for an original charge of Failure to Appear for Carrying Weapons.

Arrest Made During Active Burglary

On October 12th, at 2:59 a.m. Oelwein Officer located a subject inside "Oelwein Liquor" at 1011 S. Frederick Ave, Oelwein. The subject fled on foot after being confronted by officers. The foot pursuit traveled north through residential yards in the 1000 block of 1st Ave SE and ended in the 900 block of 1st Ave SE where the fleeing subject, identified as Anthony Allen Copley age 35 of Oelwein, was placed under arrest. Copley has been charged with burglary 3rd, Possession of burglary tools, and interference with official acts. Officers were able to recover the stolen property and additional charges are pending at this time. Copley also had an active warrant through Fayette County for probation violation on original charge of eluding. 

October 10,2021

At 2:05 p.m. on October 10th, 2021, Oelwein Police arrested Andrea Fayth Griffiths, 31, of Oelwein. Griffiths was arrested in the 900 block of North Frederick Ave on a Buchanan County warrant for an original charge of Failure to Appear for Probation Revocation Hearing. 

October 6,2021

At 6:58 p.m. on October 6th, 2021, Oelwein Police arrested Alicia Marie Thomas, 32, of Oelwein. Thomas was arrested on a charge of Driving While License Suspended - simple misdemeanor. This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 10 block of 5th Ave NE.

October 5,2021

At 8:50 p.m. on October 5th, 2021, Oelwein Police arrested Jayden Michael Heidt, 19, of Oelwein. Heidt was arrested in the 10 block of 2nd Ave NW on a Fayette County warrant for an original charge of Theft 5th Degree.

October 4,2021

On October 4, 2021 at 9:55 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Terry Rex Staton, age 64 of Oelwein on a Black Hawk County Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Driving While Suspended charge.  Staton was arrested in the 200 block of 2nd St SE.

 

 

October 3,2021

On October 3, 2021 at 12:15 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Kyle Robert Hundorf, age 27 of Oelwein, on a Clayton County Sheriff's Warrant with original charges of Failure to Appear for a Compliance Hearing, as a result of a previous arrest for Amphetamine Possession.  Contact was made with Hundorf in the 200 block of 5th Avenue SW where officers responded to a report of loud music.

 

 

October 2,2021

On October 2, 2021 at 11:30 p.m., Oelwein Officers encountered a suspicious male on the railroad tracks in the 200 block of South Frederick Avenue.  Officers arrested Joshua Keith Woodward, age 30 of Oelwein, for Public Intoxication, 1st Offense.

September 28, 2021

Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident at 20th St SE and Hwy 150 S at 10:18 a.m. on September 28th, 2021. A 2003 Chevrolet Sierra driven by Joshua Overly collided with a 2007 Ford Focus driven by Benjamin Driscoll. Initial estimates of damage were $5000 to the vehicle driven by Overly and $15,000 to the vehicle driven by Driscoll. The Oelwein Police were assisted by Mercy Oelwein Ambulance and the Oelwein Fire Department.

 

At 7:18 p.m. on September 28th, 2021, Oelwein Police arrested James Gerald Gustin, 78, of Oelwein. Gustin was arrested on a charge of Operating Under the Influence - serious misdemeanor. This arrest was made in the 10 block of 10th St SW following a traffic stop. 

September 27, 2021

At 3:27 p.m. on September 27th, 2021, Oelwein Police arrested Clayton Allen Bushaw, 26, of Oelwein. Bushaw was arrested in the 2400 block of South Frederick Ave on a Fayette county warrant for an original charge of Failure to Appear on Review of Completion of Batterer Education.

 

At 4:16 p.m. on September 27th, 2021, Oelwein Police arrested Ryan Patrick Nolan-Kringlen, 24, of Oelwein. Nolan-Kringlen was arrested on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault 3rd - felony. This arrest was made after a citizens report of a domestic disturbance in the 10 block of North Frederick Ave.

 

At 6:54 p.m. on September 27th, 2021, Oelwein Police arrested Maureen Elizabeth Nolan, 63, of Oelwein. Nolan was arrested on a charge of Public Intoxication - simple misdemeanor. This arrest was made after a citizens report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of 1st Ave SE.
