Officers arrested Jeffery Marcellinus Friis, age 55 of Oelwein on a Department of Corrections warrant for Parole Violation with original charges of habitual violator, Possession Controlled Substance, and Eluding.
Oelwein Officers responded to a report of a suspicious odor in the 900 block of South Frederick on January 21, 2019 at 9:20 p.m. Officers arrested Kaleb James Huffman, age 19 of Oelwein on charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Misdemeanor and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver and Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp, both Class "D" Felonies.
On January 18, 2019 at 2:22p.m. Oelwein Officers arrested David Lee Allen Nuehring, age 52 of Oelwein for charges on a Arkansas Warrant for Parole Violation on an original charge of Domestic Battering-3rd Degree.
On January 17, 2019 at 11:49 a.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to the 2600 block South Frederick for a reported Theft. This incident remains under investigation.
On January 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Oelwein Officers arrested Richard Dustin Scott Blanchard, age 31 of Oelwein for charges on a Delaware County Sheriff's Warrant, Fraud-Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card.
Oelwein Officers arrested Richard Jonathan Million II, age 20 of Marshalltown, Iowa in the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE on January 16, 2019 at 1:00 a.m. Million was placed under arrest for two Dubuque County Sheriff's Warrants for Voluntary Absence from Custody and Probation Violation for Burglary 3rd Degree.
On January 11, 2019 at 4:57 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to the 100 block 6th ST NE for a reported Burglary. This incident remains under investigation.
On January 8, 2019 at 7:57 a.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to the 1000 block South Frederick for a reported Burglary. This incident remains under investigation.
On January 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., Oelwein Officers were called to the 400 block of 4th Avenue SE for a reported dog running at large. Officers cited Randall Lee Meike, age 46, of Oelwein for Allowing Dog to Run at Large.
At 4:00 a.m., on January 8, 2019, a report was taken of a barking dog in the 10 block of 5th St NW, Oelwein. Officers cited Amanda Lou James, age 52 of Oelwein, for Keeping Bothersome Animals.
On January 3, 2019 at 11:52 p.m., Oelwein Police Department arrested Kasey Alan Burns, 29, of Oelwein. Burns was charged with Assault Causing Serious Injury- Class D Felony. This arrest followed an incident in the 900 block 1st ST NW.
On January 1, 2019 at 2:30 a.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 100 block of 9th Avenue SE. Officers arrested Casey James Thurston, age 28 of Oelwein on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault-Impeding Airflow, a Class "D" Felony.
On December 30, 2018 Oelwein Officers cited Daniel Dean Heidt, age 39 of Oelwein, for Failure to Abate Property as Ordered. This charge is a result of an abatement registered at a property in the 300 block of 8th AV SW.
