On May 3, 2019 at 3:45 p.m., Oelwein Police performed a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Charles. Officers arrested David Matthew Leyh, age 61, of Westgate on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance, a Serious Misdemeanor, Possession of Paraphernalia and Driving While License Suspended, both Simple Misdemeanors. Leyh was also cited for No Insurance.
At 7:45 p.m., on May 3, 2019 Oelwein Officers were called to a residence in the 400 block of 3rd St SW for a dispute. Officers were advised that one individual had sustained injuries. Officers arrested Christina Marie Burco, age 19, of Oelwein. Burco has been charged with Attempted Murder, a Class "B" Felony. The Oelwein Police Department was assisted in their investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
On May 1, 2019 at 12:34 a.m., in the 2400 block of Highway 150, Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop. Officers arrested Justis William Kim Tielebein, age 18 of Hazleton, for Driving While License Suspended. Tielebein was also given a written warning for failure to obey a traffic control device.
On May 1, 2019 at 8:28 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Timothy Michael Kearns, 53, of Oelwein. Kearns was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Serious Misdemeanor, Eluding- Serious Misdemeanor, Driving while License Suspended- Simple Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia- Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 1300 block of South Frederick.
On May 1, 2019 at 10:02 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 200 block 12th AV SE for a reported Burglary. This incident remains under investigation.
On May 1, 2019 at 1:15 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 10block North Frederick for a reported Theft. This incident remains under investigation.
On May 1, 2019 at 5:13 p.m., Oelwein Officers Oelwein Police arrested Emma Lee Imhoff, 20 Oelwein. Imhoff was arrested on 2 Scott County Warrants on original charges of Escape from Custody and Probation Violations. This arrest followed an incident in the 200 block E Charles.
On April 30, 2019 at 8:49 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 800 block 1st AV SE for a reported Theft. This incident remains under investigation.
On April 26, 2019 at 8:29 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 500 block 1st ST SE for a reported Burglary. This incident remains under investigation.
On April 25, 2019 at 8:51 a.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 10 block 6th ST SW for a reported Burglary. This incident remains under investigation.
On April 25, 2019 at 9:21 a.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 100 block 1st ST SW for a reported Criminal Mischief. This incident remains under investigation.
On April 25, 2019 at 4:28 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to South Frederick Ave for a reported Theft. This incident remains under investigation.
On April 24, 2019 at 9:50 p.m., in the 10 block of 1st Avenue NE, Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop. Officers cited and released Anthony Christian Nelson III, age 21 of Oelwein, for Driving While License Suspended. Nelson was also cited for Operating a Non Registered Vehicle.
On April 22, 2019 at 11:59 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 400 block 1st AV NW in Oelwein. Officers cited Brittany Lynn Lewin, age 19, of Oelwein, for Driving While License Suspended. Lewin was also issued an equipment repair order for a headlamp.
On April 20, 2019 at 10:29 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 800 block East Charles in Oelwein. Officers cited Charlene Marie Smith, age 42, of Independence, for Driving While License Suspended. Smith was also issued a written warning for failure to obey a traffic control device.
On April 18, 2019 at 7:40 p.m. Oelwein Officers cited Darlene Jane Anderson, age 68 of Oelwein for Failure to Abate Property-Accumulation of Garbage for a property in the 100 block of 5th Av NE. This incident originated December 21, 2018.
At 11:35 p.m. on April 18, 2019 Oelwein Officers cited Brian Wendell Bass, age 27 of Oelwein for Failure to Abate Property-Accumulation of Garbage for a property in the 200 block of 5th Avenue NE. This citation stemmed from an incident beginning January 3, 2019.
On April 19, 2019 at 12:20 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Frederick. Officers arrested Larry Edwin Shannon, age 53 of Hazleton on charges of Driving While License Barred, Aggravated Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Misdemeanor. Also arrested, Mellony Jean Harris, age 30, also of Hazleton, for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth, Serious Misdemeanor and Possession of Paraphernalia, Simple Misdemeanor. Harris was also cited for Allowing an Unauthorized Person to Drive.
On April 17, 2019 at 12:50 a.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block of North Frederick in Oelwein. Officers cited Brady John Jarchow, age 21 of Oelwein, for Driving While License Suspended. Jarchow was also issued a written warning for Driving Without Headlamps When Required. The Oelwein Officer was assisted on the traffic stop by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
