On May 19, 2017 at 12:45 a.m., Oelwein Officers investigated a vehicle at the intersection of West Charles and 7th Avenue SW. Officers arrested Brady Leland Woodward, age 18 of Oelwein, for OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.

On May 16, 2017 at 10:50 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Robert Joseph Conner, 50, of Oelwein. Conner was charged with Operating While Intoxicated- 2nd Offense-Aggravated Misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Frederick Avenue

Oelwein Police are investigating a theft complaint. Oelwein Police received a report of Theft at 2:27 p.m., on May 12, 2017 in the 200 block of 5th st nw. This incident remains under investigation.
Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block 2nd st SE, on May 12, 2017 at 11:17 p.m., Officers cited Ashlee Christine Meisgeier, age 25 of Maynard, for Driving While License Suspended, No insurance and Driving without Valid Registration.

On May 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Oelwein Officers arrested Alando Nevelle Starkey, age 32 of Oelwein on 2 Black Hawk County warrants for Pretrial Violation of Possession of Controlled Substance and Carrying Weapons.
Oelwein Officers were called to the 10 block of 2nd Street NW on May 10, 2017 at 8:30 p.m. for a reported disturbance. Officers arrested Teegan Mae Black, age 39 of Oelwein on a Fayette County warrant for Violation of a No Contact Protective Order.
On May 10, 2017 at 10:20 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to the 100 block of 7th Street SE in Oelwein for a reported Dog At Large. Officers cited Adam James Nielsen, age 32 of Oelwein for the infraction of Dog at Large.

Landlord Meeting
The Oelwein Police Department and the Office of the Building Inspector will hold a third meeting with local landlords, on May 17th, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will not last more than one hour.
This meeting is a continuation and follow-up to the previous meeting held in March and April. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss progress that has been made and to work together to map out a system of communication as well as to plan for improving properties and the quality of tenants. All local landlords are encouraged to attend as we work together to provide safe and quality housing for our citizens.

Officers arrested Cornell Lavon Jones, age 45 of Chicago, Illinois for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Misdemeanor and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, a Class "D" Felony and Christopher Cortez Jackson, age 26, also of Chicago, Illinois for Possession of Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, a Class "D" Felony.
