Thompson was arrested on a Buchanan County Probation Violation Warrant on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. On June 29, 2019 at 6:44 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 200 block 5th Ave SW for a reported Burglary. This incident remains under investigation.
On June 28, 2019 at 7:00 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Donald Eugene Latham, age 62 of Oelwein on a charge of Public Intoxication, 3rd or Subsequent Offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. This arrest stemmed from Officers interaction with Latham in the 500 block of 5th Street NE.
On June 26, 2019 at 10:04 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Dillon John Sommerfelt, 32 of Oelwein. Sommerfelt was arrested on a Buchanan County Warrant for Assault. Also arrested was Brooke Renee Sommerfelt, 29 of Oelwein. Sommerfelt was arrested on 2 Buchanan County Warrants, the first was for Assault with Injury and the second was for Interference with Official Acts. These arrest followed officer’s interaction with the subjects in the 300 block 1st AV NW.

On June 25, 2019 at 2:27 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block North Frederick in Oelwein. Officers cited Ronald Charles Imhoff, age 47 of Oelwein, for Driving While License Suspended, a Simple Misdemeanor.
On June 25, 2019 at 4:45 PM Oelwein Police arrested Aaron Andrew Schmitt, age 27 of Independence. Schmitt was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Serious Misdemeanor and Violation of a No Contact order- Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 1900 block of South Frederick.
