15/11: Oelwein Police Arrest Two For Possession of Marijuana
On November 15, 2011; the Oelwein Police Department and officials from the United States Postal Inspectors Office completed an investigation into the sale of controlled substance by shipping the illegal substance via the U.S. Mail Service. The subjects charged took delivery, from the postal service, of approximately 28 grams of marijuana. Officers also conducted a search of their residence, in the 400 block of 13th Avenue N.W., and seized further controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and other items associated with the investigation. Both subjects recently moved to Oelwein from another state and have resided in Oelwein for approximately one month.
Chief Logan stated, “A cooperative and effective relationship with the Postal Inspector Officials allowed for the collaboration and successful disposition of this investigation. This effort has allowed us to continue to inhibit the use of controlled substances in our community.”
Charged in this investigation are 21 year old Michael A. Smith and 23 year old Roxanna Marie Coon, both of Oelwein. Further charges are pending.
